Dichloroethane is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C2H4Cl2, a molecular weight of 98.97, and is a
halogenated hydrocarbon [1]. There are two isomers of dichloroethane, namely
1,1-dichloroethane and
1,2-dichloroethane . If not specified, generally refers to 1,2-dichloroethane. Dichloroethane has a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid that is difficult to dissolve in water. It is colorless and has a chloroform odor similar to chloroform at room temperature. It is toxic and potentially
carcinogenic . It is mainly used as an intermediate in the preparation process of vinyl chloride (polyvinyl chloride monomer). It is often used as a solvent in synthesis and can be added to leaded gasoline to increase the octane number. It is also used as a solvent for wax, fat, rubber, etc. and a grain insecticide. Possible solvent alternatives include 1,3-dioxane and
toluene。
application:
1. Mainly used as raw materials for vinyl chloride ;ethylene glycol ;ethylene ;glycol ;ethylene glycol ethylene ethylene ;lead polyethylene polyamine and bibenzoyl. It is also used as a solvent for oils, resins, rubbers , dry cleaning agents , pesticide dehydration, caffeine , vitamins, hormone extractants, wetting agents , impregnation agents, petroleum dewaxing , anti-seismic agents, and raw materials for pesticide manufacturing and drug worming and piperazine. It can be used as a food in agriculture; fumigation agent for grains ; soil disinfectant , etc.
3. Used as
an analytical reagent , such as solvents and chromatographic analysis standard substances. It is also used as the extraction of oils and fats and is used for organic synthesis.
4. Use as detergents, extractants, pesticides and metal deoilers.
5. Used as a solvent and cereal insecticide for wax, fat, rubber, etc.
